How it Works

Beat Week is a friendly giving competition between fourth-year students at the University of Virginia and seniors at Virginia Tech, building on the long-standing rivalry of the Commonwealth Clash. While we have a heated rivalry on the field, that spirit of competition can bring us together and lift each of our beloved schools to greater heights. This spirited event unites both schools’ senior classes in a head-to-head giving challenge.

Starting on November 17, UVA and Virginia Tech will compete to see which university can gain the greatest number of new class giving donors over a two-week period. Fourth-years and seniors are encouraged to give their class gift during this time to celebrate school pride, embody the spirit of philanthropy, and support a growing Cavalier-Hokie tradition!
